Convent

By frequent request from the Vylathur parishioners for getting formal and informal education to their children and also to promote Christian atmosphere in the parish, they discussed this affair with FCC sisters.They were ready to do all the sacrifice to exchange the ownership of the existed school to FCC sisters. In response to their ardent desire, Provincial Superior Rev Sr Romuald and councillors studied and anticipated this topic and took an unmistakable step towards the notion. On Feb17th 1982, Rev. Fr. John Cheruvathoor laid the foundation stone foe the convent. Two temporary rooms were constructed to reside for the sisters and the school newly started on June 1st.

                 The long awaited Sacred Heart convent was blessed and consecrated by zealous and devoted Bishop Mar Joseph Kundukulam.The function is blessed by the presence of good number of sisters, parishioners and the parish priest. The sisters are doing their pastoral ministry in collaboration with parish priest.The sisters are actively taking part in family unit gathering, house visits, various pious associations etc. A rapid growth was visible in the functioning of the school after the exchanging of management to the sisters. A nursery school was newly started. The number of students increased year after year and the new division was also added. The old class rooms knocked down and the school rebuilt.

                The sisters are living there as the icons of FCC leading the poor people to God and trying to attain their goal through various apostolic activities.
