Convent

2nd Vatican Council ended with a great message: it is high time to start a new era in the Catholic Church. Many alterations took place in Catholic Church and in religious congregations. FCC welcomed the idea of small communities to build up strong personal relationship and, it is easy to keep the spirit of religious constitution. Assisi Thrissur also got ready to start small communities. Mammiyoor Nazareth F.C Convent is a fruit of that decision.

              Though the superiors tried to find a proper place for a convent, it was very difficult to get and so in 1972 the boarding school of LF school was converted as Nazareth F.C Convent. After four years, in 1976 Bishop Mar Joseph Kundukulam blessed the new convent. An elementary school had already existed here for four decades which was run by a private management. With the help of vicar of Palayoor church Rev. Fr. John Ukken it was brought under the control of FCC sisters. Over the years the elementary school became L.F. U P school. The school celebrated its centenary and it really helps in shaping the younger generation of Mammiyoor premises.
