Convent

By 1982, a branch of Assisi province was founded at Mangad for the development of that backward place. Thus the dream of Rev. Fr. George Mangalam and the parishioners came true. In the beginning, the Provincial Superior Rev. Mother Romuald took the initiative for the sisters to stay in a rented house. The construction of St. Ann's and the blessing was done on 29th Jan1983 by Rt. Rev. Dr. Joseph Kundukulam.

                  Understanding the key issues of that place, a nursery school was started in the month of June 1983 and a tailoring centre was also begun in the month of December. Jyothis Tutorial was started for the SSLC failed students. In 2007 it was ended.

                         In the Mahajubilee year 2000, home mission programme was arranged in Mangad Parish. The members of St. Ann's convent and sisters from different convents of Assisi Province actively participated in that venture and visited all the houses and listened & prayed for them carefully.
