According to IInd Vatican Council, the integral development of the human being is the aim of religious institutions. It was a courageous step taken by the FCC Sisters, to start a centre for differently abled children, F. C. Pushpalaya and Victory centre for women as a shelter for them.
On the occasion of the Silver Jubilee Celebration of L. F College, on 1st April 1979, it was decided to start a residential unit with 14 girls. The official inauguration of this house was done by Mar Joseph Kundukulam, Bishop of Thrissur. With the suggestion of Plenary Council, the convents which have more than 40 members should divided into two and to start a new house. Thus Pushpalaya convent originated. The blessing and inauguration of the convent was done by Mar Joseph Kundukalam on 3rd January 1986. Education, Rehabilitation of the differently abled, Vocational training, Printing Ministry etc. are the different apostolic fields under Pushpalaya Convent. To give training for the handicapped, in tailoring, type writing, composing, book binding, embroidery, there are provisions in the Assisi Social Centre. With the advent of modern technology, short term computer courses, DTP, M.S. Office and training in Fabric painting and interior decoration are also started. Certificate courses are arranged in association with the Govt. Poly Technic Triprayar.
